Enrol In Teacher Training
The ISTD Initial Teacher training qualification in Ballet, Tap, or Modern theatre is called the DDE ( Diploma in Dance Education). It is a course of study at Level 4 OFQUAL with five separate Units.
Unit 4 is the study and analysis of the specific ISTD syllabus in the genre you wish to specialise in. It takes place in two —or four-hour weekly sessions at our studio or via Zoom from your own Studio.
Unit 3 is the Intermediate practical Dance exam, again specific to your genre. The written coursework, units 1 and 5, is studied via distance learning, Zoom, tutorials, emails, and coursework. Unit 2 is the evaluation of your lesson observations, assisting in dance classes, and planning and teaching your dance classes.
The ISTD Dancesport qualification for Latin, Ballroom, and Disco-Freestyle is called the Associate, and it is studied via private coaching.
Higher teacher training qualifications called Licentiate and Fellowship can also be coached by appointment with our experienced tutors (please call for more details).
