Chance To Dance – Royal Opera House Partnership
Since 2018, ACS has partnered with the Royal Opera House as an ROH Associate school for “Chance to Dance,” helping broaden access to ballet for children and young people from diverse backgrounds.
ACS teachers Diana and Joe enjoy visiting their partner school, Warren Primary School, to deliver creative ballet workshops, introduce year 3 children to the joys of ballet, and help identify new talent.
The children learn new skills, develop artistry and technique, and engage with the Royal Ballet's repertoire by creating their own dance sequences under our Dance Artist’s guidance and direction. These weekly workshops culminate in performance opportunities, which have to date taken place either at the Royal Opera House, Linden Theatre or at other local theatres.
So far, performances have been themed on the following rep: “The Fire Bird”, “Romeo and Juliet”, “Swan Lake”, and “Light of Passage”
Two Children are then selected each year to receive a Bursary to attend ACS Dance Centre. To date, we have worked with over 120 children on the project and given 27 bursary "Chance to Dance” children the opportunity to learn to dance at ACS.

Encouraging Boys In Dance
Our Boys' Scholarship Programme aims to break stereotypes and encourage more boys to dance. Learning ballet, tap, and contemporary dance offers incredible benefits, including improved strength, coordination, and confidence. Many boys hesitate to join dance classes, but we are dedicated to changing perceptions and providing a welcoming space. Through this scholarship, we support young male dancers pursuing their passion with high-quality training and mentorship.
