HOW YOU CAN STUDY
⎯⎯⎯⎯

DIFFERENT ROUTES.
SAME STANDARD.

Teacher training doesn’t have to follow one fixed timetable.

Your study pattern can be shaped around your current dance level, previous qualifications, outside commitments and how intensively you’re able to train.

PART-TIME

REGULAR WEEKLY TRAINING

Develop your teaching knowledge and practical skills steadily alongside work, study or family life.

Part-time trainees can study one genre at a time or combine subjects where their workload allows.

Best suited to:
Students who want a consistent weekly structure and time to absorb the course alongside other commitments.

INTENSIVE
& SEMI-INTENSIVE

FASTER-PACED TRAINING

Experienced dancers may be able to complete parts of their training through a more concentrated programme.

Intensive and semi-intensive study is particularly suited to professional or post-professional dancers, or candidates with significant previous ISTD experience and the required practical standard.

Best suited to:
Candidates who already have a strong technical foundation and can commit more time to their training.

FLEXIBLE & BLENDED

STUDIO · ONLINE · DISTANCE LEARNING

Not every part of teacher training needs to happen in the studio.

Depending on the qualification and unit, elements such as written study, tutorials, observations and portfolio work can be supported through distance learning or online sessions alongside practical studio training.

Best suited to:
Candidates who need greater flexibility or who are travelling to ACS from further afield.

There is no single completion time.

Your route will depend on where you start, what you already hold and how intensively you choose to train.

TEACHER TRAINING ENQUIRIES
⎯⎯⎯⎯

There isn’t one standard route through teacher training at ACS.

The right programme depends on your current dance level, previous qualifications, the subjects you want to teach, any units you have already completed and how intensively you’re able to study.

You don’t need to know exactly which course you need before getting in touch — that’s what the initial conversation is for.

COURSE LENGTH & COST
⎯⎯⎯

Teacher training at ACS is individually planned, so there isn’t one fixed course length or total price.

Costs depend on factors such as the qualification you’re working towards, your existing training and exemptions, the number of genres you study, the amount of tuition you need and whether you train part-time or intensively.

We’ll discuss the likely study route and costs with you once we understand your starting point.
