BALLET ・MODERN ・TAP ・DISCO FREESTYLE ・STREET ・BALLROOM & LATIN
We offer specially designed dance classes for young children, based on child development. Our combination classes allow them to explore different dance styles in one session, helping them develop rhythm, coordination, and confidence. These fun and interactive sessions create a strong foundation for future learning. Through music, movement, and imaginative play, we help young dancers discover a love for dance in a warm and supportive environment.
5-7 YEAR OLDS • BUILD THE FOUNDATIONS.
⎯⎯⎯
BALLET ・MODERN ・TAP ・ACRO ・DISCO FREESTYLE ・STREET ・BALLROOM & LATIN ・MUSICAL THEATRE
As children grow, they move into pre-primary and primary dance levels. Classes become more structured while keeping dance enjoyable. Students develop technique, strength, flexibility and musicality, with opportunities to begin syllabus and examination work as they progress. Our structured syllabus ensures each child progresses comfortably while building confidence and essential dance skills.

MORE THAN JUST DANCE CLASSES.
SHOWS · EXAMS · EVENTS
⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯
At ACS, We offer opportunities beyond regular classes. From stepping onto a stage for the first time to working towards an exam or taking part in a friendly competition. These experiences help build confidence, celebrate progress and create memories that become part of their time at ACS.
ISTD EXAMINATIONS
We proudly teach internationally recognised ISTD Dance syllabus, with recognised progressions from first grades to vocational levels. We study for Grade exams in Tap, Imperial Ballet and Modern Theatre from Primary to Grade 6 and vocational grades Intermediate, Advanced 1 and Advanced 2 (accredited examinations by OFQUA). We also study for ISTD Medalist examinations in Ballroom, Latin-American and Disco-Freestyle Street.
Examinations are held at our studios with external examiners either in person or remotely.
DANCE AND MUSICAL THEATRE SHOWS
Dance and musical theatre are performing arts ,so we believe every child should have performance opportunities. This is what the children tell us they really love about dancing.
Our youngest infant members start low-key and perform in our yearly in-house show case display and our more experienced juniors and teens, who have already gained performance experience as youngsters, then take part in our large bi-annual production show at a local theatres.
Musical Theatre students also have extra opportunities to perform throughout the year in separate shows and cabarets.
FRIENDLY COMPETITIONS
Children have the opportunity to attend Ballroom, Latin, Disco-Freestyle, Street and Rock' N Roll competitions. These are usually held on Sundays and are an enjoyable experience for our dancers, who gain confidence and a sense of achievement. They study routines in class and private lessons, and dance their routines against other local schools and students of similar age/ability.
We usually compete within an hour's journey from Romford; however, there are chances to take your competition further to the next level and compete nationally, if you study more intensively with our competitive coaches.
We also sometimes select suitably talented children to compete in the ISTD’s National competitions, such as the Star Tap, Imperial Ballet, Janet Cram Modern Awards, and Blackpool Grand Finals. We have had many previous finalists and winners.
FROM OUR FAMILIES
⎯⎯⎯⎯
WHAT PARENTS NOTICE.
The technique matters. But so do the things that happen around it — confidence growing, friendships forming, teachers knowing their students and children looking forward to coming back each week.
“
My 4 year old has been at ACS a year and a half now, the classes are brilliant. Fun, engaging, fairly priced. During lockdown theyve continued classed via zoom which gives a bit of routine to our week, and means my child can continue to learn. The teachers are brilliant, and really know how to engage and teach little kids.
CONFIDENCE
A little braver.
A little taller.
BELONGING
A place they

to.
PROGRESS
Skills that
grow with
them.
